Otero County Diabetes Education and Prevention Collaborative is a subcommittee of Otero County Community Health Council that draws attention to behaviors that cause diabetes and obesity and provides and encourages healthier behaviors. Current projects include:
- worksite wellness presentations to local businesses
- working with school wellness programs
- Let's Move Otero - the local version of Michelle Obama's Let's Move program
- ciclovias (programs encouraging outdoor exercise for children and adults)
